I wanted to write briefly about what you should expect when you are pregnant. You go through many different stages along the pregnancy timeline and a lot of these can be tough. I want to give you some reassurances because I am going through the same thing right now.
Not everyone finds out they are pregnant in the same way. Some can find out quite late on along the pregnancy timeline. I found out early because I was checking. It was a nice feeling but then I realised I didn’t know how I should be feeling. I didn’t feel pregnant, I was actually a little bit lost.
Although when you go there is nothing really that they can do, I went to the doctors as soon as I found out. I was still very unsure when I left but at least I had an appointment booked with the midwife. When you do meet the midwife she should put your mind at ease. She went through everything on the pregnancy timeline with me.
Still not feeling pregnant? Don’t worry you soon will and when you do it will hit you suddenly. The thing that affected me the most was the tiredness. I felt tired all the time. I struggled to get up in the mornings and when I arrived home from work I was worse than useless around the house. All I did was lie on the sofa.
It wasn’t only the tiredness I was struggling from. My body felt achy and I was getting more headaches. My sense of smell increased and I smelt things I hadn’t used to. This was making me feel sick.
I have now passed that stage thankfully. I am at week 18 on the pregnancy timeline and I feel good again. I know it will be hard again just before the baby is born but I am preparing myself for that.
