How can you enjoy the sun while minimizing the risks of ultraviolet rays? There are some tips you can follow and steps you can take to protect yourself from the sun. Enjoy the sunshine without so many risks.
Whenever you are heading outside, you should put on sunscreen. Make certain to purchase sunscreen with a minimum SPF of 15. Do not be fooled by clouds or if it looks as if the sunshine is not out. You should wear sunscreen whenever you go outside. If you are heading out for a swim, you will need to put on more sunscreen when your swim is done. Anytime you will be outside for more than a couple hours at a time, you will need to put on more sunscreen.
You will want to put kid approved sunscreen on your children each time they go outside as well. Purchase hats for your kids that will protect their eyes from the bright sunshine. Purchase sunglasses for you (and your children if you are a parent). The bright sun also poses risks to your eyes.
You should also wear a hat to prevent too much UV exposure to your eyes. Even when it is hot, it is often a good idea to wear longer sleeves and pants or capri pants to help protect your skin from the sun.
On days when there is a lot of sunshine, the best times to be outside are before 11am and after 3pm. You should also try to keep your children from spending too much time outside during the time period of 11am and 3 in the afternoon.
Sun tanning is not safe even using the sun for a natural tan. You are allowing too much sun exposure to your skin when you tan. If you do decide to tan, try to do so when the sun is out but not the middle of the day. If you feel as if you are starting to have any signs of sunburn get in out of the sun.
You can enjoy the sun if you take some steps to be safe and use some common sense.
